At the risk of keeping it real, I lost my husband three years ago and I am now in a same-sex relationship. As a result, I have been criticized on social media for not getting remarried to a man to provide a father for my son. People have come right out and said that two women can’t be good parents and I am a bad mother for subjecting my son to homophobia and an even “harder” life. My girlfriend is an extraordinary co-parent and we are raising a son to identify the difference between right and wrong. Once he is old enough to understand, he will be able to recognize that homophobia is either reserved for the ignorant or those in need of help and my son is so empathetic, he will likely try to help them be better versions of themselves.

Any mother that is in the arena inspires me. Even a first-time mother who is running on instinct is more impressive than most CEOs running companies.

Many people think our kids should be homeschooled by us right now as if they are going to fall behind. I think kids need hugs, extra cookies, and movies during this very uneasy time in quarantine.

We can start by giving mothers in need the necessities they need to provide for their children! It’s insane that there are children in our world that don’t have diapers or lunch!

After my son goes to sleep, I often get to get in bed, put on a sheet mask, and anything above 60% on rotten tomatoes. I used to have really dry feet and now I spend a few minutes a night massaging them with MUTHA body butter. I have baby feet now.
