Where is MUTHA made?
Our founder Hope made the conscious decision to design and manufacture her first MUTHA products in the USA. As we can continue to grow and expand our range of products, we are now manufacturing our products in the USA and France.
Can I use your products if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
Self-care is essential during pregnancy, which is why we create powerful, effective formulas designed with both MUTHA and baby in mind. Loved by MUTHAs worldwide, our dermatologist-tested, nutrient-rich formulas are safe for sensitive skin and provide deep nourishment throughout pregnancy and beyond.I

Will the MUTHA Body Butter melt?
It’s MUTHA nature. Pure, non-synthetic ingredients can soften or melt during transport and then re-solidify in room temperatures.
When do MUTHA products expire?
After opening, you’ve got half a year to MUTHA yourself with any MUTHA product that’s stored properly. Reminder: That means out of direct heat and sealed when not in use. If you do this, you’re set. The integrity, quality and performance of each product will not be compromised, whether or not the pure ingredients naturally lighten, darken, sour or sweeten. Here’s what you won’t find: aggressive synthetic preservatives.
INGREDIENTS
Are your products gluten free?
We avoid using gluten-based ingredients in our formulas. While we use manufacturing procedures that minimize the risk of cross contamination, we don’t test or verify to that effect. To MUTHA yourself best, we encourage you to consult a doctor/allergist prior to use.
Are your products vegan?
Everything except the MUTHA® Body Butter which contains beeswax and is technically “beegan,” and MUTHA® Up All Night Eye which contains pearl powder. Otherwise, we operate free of any animal-sourced ingredients or byproducts in an effort to care for you.
Does MUTHA test on animals?
NO way. MUTHA taught us better than that.
What ingredients and practices does MUTHA refuse?
We refuse to use animal-derived ingredients, with the above-mentioned exception of beeswax and pearl powder.
What does clean mean to MUTHA?
MUTHA products are always formulated without: GMOs, phenoxyethanol, parabens, phthalates, talc, cyclic silicones, PEGs, ethoxylated ingredients, sulfates, denatured alcohol, GMO’s, petrolatum, petroleum jelly and mineral oil. Moreover, MUTHA looks to follow industry standards about Clean beauty established by Sephora and the likes of Credo Beauty.
What does organic mean to MUTHA?
MUTHA only labels product organic when its been vendor certified to meet this designation. Sometimes it’s just that simple.
What does natural mean to MUTHA?
Within the beauty industry, the term 'natural' does not have a standardized definition. MUTHA uses the terms 'natural,' 'naturally derived,' or 'of natural origin' to refer to ingredients that are sourced from nature, plant, mineral, or animal materials and are subsequently subjected to physical or chemical processes necessary for their safe and effective use in cosmetic products.
MUTHA acknowledges that such processes may alter the original molecular structure of these ingredients. Furthermore, some of these ingredients may be combined with synthetic compounds to achieve desired product performance attributes, such as stability and absorption, thereby modifying the ingredients' natural state.
The percentage of natural origin communicated in our products is calculated in accordance with the ISO 16128 standard, which provides a framework to calculate natural, natural origin indexes that apply to the ingredient categories. You'll find that many MUTHA products have over 95% ingredients of natural origin, although some may have less. It's important to note that we reference this standard not to label our products as 'natural' but to give you a clear, consistent way to compare the assessed natural ingredient content across our range.
Does MUTHA use nuts in its products?
There are oils from tree nuts in MUTHA products. This includes Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, and Coconut Oil. To MUTHA yourself best, we encourage MUTHAs who have nut allergies to consult a doctor/allergist prior to use.
SHIPPING POLICIES
Do you offer complimentary standard shipping?
We currently offer complimentary shipping on orders $50+ to fifty states within the United States. For orders under $50+ there will be a standard $5 shipping fee and for shipments going to Alaska and Hawaii there will be a $35 flat-rate shipping fee.
Do you ship orders outside of the US?
We currently ship to the U.S. and Canada.
While we do not ship directly to international locations at this time, our products are available to European customers through our retail partners at Niche Beauty and Cult Beauty. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter to receive any new updates.

MUTHAs notoriously place themselves at the bottom of their lists. We created Auto-Replenishment Subscriptions to rail against this notion. This way, you’ll never run out of the MUTHA essentials you select upfront. Cancel anytime. Change the timing, frequency or product choice in your account at least 24 hours before a shipment.
